IL HB3838

Amends the Illinois Counties Code (55 ILCS 5/5-1069) effective January 1, 2024.

Prohibits counties from providing group life, health, accident, hospital, and medical insurance benefits to part-time county board members unless the same benefits are provided or offered to part-time county employees.

Maintains existing provisions allowing county boards to arrange insurance coverage for full-time employees, including options for self-insurance or group insurance through authorized carriers.

Preserves existing requirements for mammography screening, mastectomy coverage, and related health insurance provisions for county employees.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
