IL HB3972

Amends the Illinois Procurement Code by adding Section 25-210 concerning generic prescription drug contracting.

Requires the Department of Central Management Services, in consultation with the Chief Procurement Officer, to establish a State prescription generic drug label program to increase competition and lower generic drug prices.

Mandates the label include a list of the 100 most commonly prescribed drugs.

Authorizes the Department to contract with one or more generic drug manufacturers to produce generic drugs on behalf of the State and participating entities.

Requires the Department to adopt rules necessary to implement and administer the program.
