• Requires coverage for molecular breast imaging (MBI) and magnetic resonance imaging for patients with dense or heterogeneous breast tissue or when medically necessary, effective for policies amended or issued on or after the bill's enactment date.

• Extends mammography coverage requirements (baseline, annual, and diagnostic mammograms) to apply to county employee health insurance programs, municipal employee health insurance programs, private insurance policies, and Medicaid beneficiaries.

• Establishes that breast cancer screening and diagnostic coverage must be provided at no cost to insured individuals and cannot be applied to annual or lifetime benefit maximums.

• Ensures providers performing covered breast imaging services cannot be penalized or have reimbursement reduced based on providing care consistent with the mammography and reconstructive surgery coverage mandates.
