Changes school district accelerated placement policies to make automatic enrollment optional rather than mandatory by the 2023-2024 school year.

Raises the threshold for automatic enrollment from "meets or exceeds" to only "exceeds" State standards in English language arts, mathematics, or science on State assessments.

Requires school districts to offer parents or guardians an option for students to enroll in alternative coursework that aligns with the student's postsecondary education or career goals instead of automatic advanced placement.

Maintains existing requirements for school districts to have accelerated placement policies with fair decision-making processes, multiple assessment indicators, parent notification, and equity promotion strategies.

Effective immediately upon passage.
