IL HB4310

Amends Section 12C-5 of the Criminal Code of 2012 concerning endangering the life or health of a child.

Creates new offense (subsection a-5) making it illegal for a person to knowingly permit a child to possess an imitation firearm with an altered, changed, removed, or obliterated federal marking required under 15 U.S.C. Section 5001.

Violation of the imitation firearm provision is classified as a Class A misdemeanor.

Defines "imitation firearm" in the statute (definition appears in subsection c).

Maintains existing provisions on child endangerment and the exception for relinquishing children under the Abandoned Newborn Infant Protection Act.
