• Amends the Firearms Restraining Order Act to expand the definition of "petitioner" to include intimate partners, enabling them to petition for firearm restraining orders.

• Requires courts to immediately issue search warrants for seizure of firearms, ammunition, and firearm parts upon issuance of ex parte or final orders of protection when probable cause exists that the respondent possesses such items and poses an immediate and present danger to the petitioner or child.

• Mandates that respondents subject to domestic violence orders of protection surrender all firearms, ammunition, and firearm parts that could be assembled into operable firearms to law enforcement, with seizure warrants executed within 96 hours.

• Establishes that probable cause for search warrants based on oral testimony may meet the same evidentiary standards as warrants based on affidavits.

• Takes effect immediately and applies to both the Code of Criminal Procedure (domestic violence orders) and the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986.
