Secretary of State shall add optional data fields to annual report forms for nonprofit corporations to voluntarily report aggregated demographic information of directors and officers, including race, ethnicity, gender, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

Nonprofit corporations that report grants of $1,000,000 or more to other charitable organizations must post their aggregated demographic information on their public website within 30 days of filing their annual AG990-IL Charitable Organization Annual Report.

Posted demographic information must remain accessible on the corporation's website for at least 5 years after posting.

Department of Human Rights shall develop and publish a standardized list of demographic classifications for use by the Secretary of State and corporations, with periodic updates to the list.

Corporations must allow individuals to decline disclosing any or all of their personal demographic information.

Effective January 1, 2025.
