IL HB4800

Amends the Safe Schools Law (105 ILCS 5/13A-8) to change how alternative school programs receive state funding in fiscal years when the state funding allocation is at or above $22,730,000.

Increases the base funding amount for each alternative school program from $30,000 to $100,000 per fiscal year when the threshold is met.

Replaces "best 3 months' average daily attendance" with "average student enrollment" as the metric for calculating proportional funding distributions based on regional student enrollment ratios.

Requires the calculation of average student enrollment for each region or Chicago to include the region's low-income student count multiplied by one-half times the percentage of that region's low-income students relative to the state's total.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
