IL HB4852

Amends the Sex Offender Registration Act (730 ILCS 150/4) to require the Department of Corrections to notify victims, law enforcement agencies, and State's Attorneys' offices in writing at least 30 days before a sex offender or sexual predator's release.

Requires notification to include the county of conviction and the county where the sex offender or sexual predator expects to reside upon release.

Maintains existing requirements for sex offenders to register in person within 3 days of release and to register in a new state within 3 days of establishing residence, employment, or attending school outside Illinois.

Requires facilities to obtain information about the person's expected residence, work location, and school attendance upon release and share this information with the Illinois State Police and relevant law enforcement agencies.

Maintains existing requirements that facilities provide written notice to registrants about registration duties, the consequences of non-compliance, and require signed acknowledgment that the person understands their registration obligations.
