IL HB4920

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to establish state policy encouraging foreign-born drivers to apply and work as school bus drivers in Illinois.

Prohibits state laws or actions from blocking foreign-born, non-citizen, or non-domiciled drivers from applying for commercial learner's permits (CLP), commercial driver's licenses (CDL), or type S endorsements for school bus driving.

Requires coursework, descriptions, testing, and application requirements for CLP, CDL, and type S endorsements to be made available in Spanish where reasonable, in addition to other languages deemed appropriate by the Secretary of State or Illinois State Board of Education.
