IL HB4947

Amends the Criminal Code of 2012 to elevate disorderly conduct from a Class C misdemeanor to a Class A misdemeanor when the violation results in or requires a business or facility to close during the breach of the peace.

Maintains existing disorderly conduct offenses including false fire alarms, false bomb threats, threats against schools, false 911 calls, and other similar violations with their respective felony and misdemeanor penalties.

Preserves mandatory community service requirements of 30-120 hours for disorderly conduct convictions when community service is available and funded by the county.

Requires reimbursement to government units for emergency response costs when false bomb threats to schools trigger emergency dispatch, unless the convicted person is determined to be indigent.
