Defines "green burial" as the burial of a human body that minimizes environmental impact, requiring no embalming (or only nontoxic chemicals), use of a biodegradable casket or shroud, and no outer burial container.

Prohibits green burials in Illinois until July 1, 2026, unless performed in a cemetery that permits green burials and complies with all applicable local ordinances and regulations.

Directs the Director of Public Health to study the environmental and health impacts of green burials and natural organic reduction, including effects on groundwater, surface water, worker safety, and the public.

Requires the study to address topics including siting requirements, minimum distances from water sources, burial depth standards, burial density limits, disease prevention procedures, and body preservation methods.

Requires the Director of Public Health to submit the study and recommendations, including any necessary statutory changes, to the General Assembly by February 1, 2026.
