IL HB5107

Establishes a minimum attendance requirement of 60% of spring legislative session days for General Assembly members to receive their annual salary, beginning with the 104th General Assembly.

Members who fail to meet the attendance requirement upon completion of the spring legislative session forfeit all compensation for the remainder of that calendar year and must reimburse the State for payments already received.

Members who fail the attendance requirement forfeit any pension service credit earned during that calendar year, with contributions for forfeited service credit refunded to the participant.

Applies to participants in the General Assembly pension system who first become members on or after January 10, 2024.

Takes effect immediately.
