Requires administrators of nursing homes and assisted living facilities to ensure all staff receive annual in-service training designed to prevent retaliation against patients and residents.

Training must cover: residents' rights to file complaints about retaliation, examples of what constitutes employee retaliation, and methods to prevent retaliation and alleviate residents' fear of retaliation.

The Office of State Long Term Care Ombudsman shall create and periodically update a training manual providing guidance on structuring and implementing the required training.

Department shall adopt rules defining the contents and scope of training in consultation with the Office of State Long Term Care Ombudsman.

Effective immediately.
