Amends the Elevator Safety and Regulation Act (225 ILCS 312/15) to add a new definition of "temporary certificate of operation."

A temporary certificate of operation permits temporary use of a conveyance (elevator, escalator, etc.) by the general public for a maximum of 30 days while minor repairs or upgrades are being completed.

The Administrator or Local Administrator may issue a temporary certificate only if they determine that the conveyance's use will not jeopardize the safety and health of users or workers.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage.
