• Students must remain on school district attendance rolls until a documented cause for disenrollment is provided, including death certificate, physician's note, medical non-compliance proof, expulsion documentation, proof of non-school-age status, graduation, program completion, enrollment in another district, or signed parent documentation of home schooling.

• School districts must alert truant officers or regional superintendents if unable to locate a student for an extended period without documentation of the student's whereabouts.

• School district report cards must include data on the number of students remaining on attendance rolls without attending school and the length of time each such student remained enrolled.

• Students kept on attendance rolls pending documentation of whereabouts or enrollment status are excluded from the definition of "chronic or habitual truant."

• Beginning with October 2024 report cards, schools must report the total number of support personnel (counselors, social workers, nurses, psychologists) and average students per support person at school, district, and state levels.
