Amends Section 3-2-5 of the Unified Code of Corrections concerning the organization of the Department of Corrections and Department of Juvenile Justice.

Makes a technical change to the language describing the administration of the Department of Corrections by a Director and Assistant Director appointed by the Governor.

Requires the Department of Corrections to maintain separation between juveniles under 18 years old and adult offenders in facilities.

Establishes a gang intelligence unit under the Director's supervision to gather information on inmate gang activity, monitor gangs, and develop policies to deter gang activities.

Designates gang intelligence information as highly confidential and exempt from public disclosure requests, while allowing controlled sharing with other law enforcement agencies for investigations and prosecution of gang activity.
