IL HB5622

Prohibits individuals in townships located in counties with populations of 600,000 or more from simultaneously holding an elected township office and another local elected office

Raises the population threshold from 550,000 to 600,000 for counties where county board members may also serve as township highway commissioners

Applies to elected township positions including trustee, supervisor, highway commissioner, clerk, assessor, and collector

Exempts violations of the new dual-office holding restriction from Class 4 felony penalties that apply to other violations of the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act

Amends both the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act and the Public Officer Simultaneous Tenure Act to implement these changes
