Amends the Workers' Compensation Act to define student athletes at institutions of higher education as "employees" when participating in athletic events, traveling to/from athletic events, or engaging in organized training activities.

Extends workers' compensation coverage to student athletes injured during these athletic activities, making institutions of higher education liable for providing benefits.

Establishes a special method for calculating average weekly wage for student athletes under Section 10 of the Act (specific calculation method referenced but text cuts off).

Applies only during the time student is actively participating in athletics or travel directly related to athletic competition; does not cover students outside these specific circumstances.
