HB5687 - Department of Labor Appropriations

• Appropriates $22,298,900 total for the Department of Labor's fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024, divided among General Funds ($12,400,500), Other State Funds ($3,498,400), and Federal Funds ($6,400,000)

• Allocates $10,291,000 from General Revenue Fund for operational expenses including personal services ($8,271,000), electronic data processing ($893,100), social security contributions ($632,800), contractual services ($325,000), and other administrative costs

• Appropriates funding from specialized state funds: $1,500,000 from Child Labor and Day and Temporary Labor Services Enforcement Fund; $500,000 from Wage Theft Enforcement Fund; $348,400 from Amusement Ride and Patron Safety Fund; and $150,000 from Employee Classification Fund

• Allocates federal funds totaling $6,400,000 for occupational safety and health programs, including $4,000,000 from Federal Industrial Services Fund, $2,000,000 from Department of Labor Federal Trust Fund, and $400,000 from Federal Indirect Cost Fund

• Appropriates additional General Revenue funds for Equal Pay Act administration ($1,401,500), Nurse Agency Licensing Act ($895,700), and Paid Leave for All Workers Act ($812,300); effective July 1, 2024
