Restores citizenship requirement for sheriff's deputies and special policemen in counties with fewer than 1,000,000 inhabitants, reversing provisions added by Public Act 103-357 that allowed non-citizens with work authorization or DACA status to serve.

Restores citizenship requirement for deputy sheriff appointments in counties, removing language that permitted legally authorized workers or DACA recipients to qualify if authorized to possess firearms.

Removes provisions from municipal police officer examination standards that allowed non-citizens with federal work authorization or DACA status to apply for police positions, returning to citizen-only requirement.

Amends both Counties Code (Sections 3-6033 and 3-7008) and Illinois Municipal Code (Sections 10-1-7 and 10-2.1-6) to eliminate alternative eligibility pathways created in January 2024.

Takes effect immediately upon passage.
