Designates Route 31 in Batavia from Main Street south to Mooseheart Road as the "SSG Robert D. Herreid Memorial Highway"

Staff Sergeant Robert Dale Herreid served as a Specialist 5 with the U.S. Army's 5th Special Forces Group and was killed in action on October 10, 1968, during an ambush in Chau Doc Province, South Vietnam

SSG Herreid was posthumously promoted to Staff Sergeant and awarded the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, and Army Good Conduct Medal

Illinois Department of Transportation is requested to erect plaques or signs at suitable locations marking the memorial highway in compliance with state and federal regulations

Copies of the resolution are to be presented to SSG Herreid's family, Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke, and the Illinois Department of Transportation Secretary
