Urges the State Board of Education to conduct a study on the number of Illinois schools and school districts using Native American names, logos, and mascots

Requests the State Board of Education to collect findings on the costs for schools and districts to remove and change Native American names, mascots, and logos through conversations with local schools and districts

Requires the State Board of Education to submit a written report with findings to the General Assembly no later than December 31, 2024

Encourages schools, school districts, and public school associations to consider and plan for changing Native American names, mascots, and logos

Cites research showing that Native American mascots negatively affect Native American students and all students, and that the American Psychological Association recommends retirement of such mascots
