Notes that prescribed fire was historically used by Indigenous peoples and is now used by forest, prairie, and wetland managers, though only approximately 6 percent of Illinois conservation lands currently use this practice

Supports the appropriate and continued use of prescribed fire in Illinois as a means to maintain healthy landscapes and provide ecological services like clean air and water

Directs presentation of a copy of this resolution to the Illinois Prescribed Fire Council
