House of Representatives expresses support for the Southwest Connector Coalition's efforts to expand Illinois Routes 127/154/3 from two to four lanes across Jackson, Perry, Randolph, and Monroe Counties

Southwest Connector Task Force issued a 125-page report in 2019 documenting justifications for the project including economic development, safety, and national security concerns

Expansion project has support from Laborers Local 773, Illinois Retail Merchants Association, Jackson County NAACP, Southern Illinois University, hundreds of private businesses, and thousands of residents

Coalition is pursuing nearly $1 billion in federal funding that would create hundreds of union jobs and enhance Illinois infrastructure and travel safety

Resolution encourages coalition members to continue efforts to advance the project and instructs presentation of a suitable copy to the Southwest Connector Coalition
