Recognizes Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., founded January 15, 1908, with a mission promoting unity among college women and advocating for socioeconomic, racial, political, and environmental improvements.

Notes the sorority established its headquarters in Chicago in 1949 and currently operates 43 chapters in Illinois, including 15 on college campuses and 28 alumnae chapters throughout communities.

Acknowledges two Alpha Kappa Alpha members serving in Illinois government: Senator Mattie Hunter in the State Legislature and Lieutenant Governor Julianna Stratton in the Executive Branch.

Directs presentation of suitable copies of the resolution to the Nu Omicron Omega Chapter and Tau Chi Chapters in recognition of all Illinois chapters' service and advocacy work.
