Encourages Illinois institutions of higher education to adopt statements embracing the neurodiversity paradigm, recognizing autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and other neurocognitive variations as normal differences in brain function.

Acknowledges that neurodivergent individuals have unique strengths and talents that contribute to innovation and productivity when they are understood, valued, and empowered.

Recognizes that neurodivergent students face barriers and stigma on college campuses and calls for improved support and accommodations to help them achieve personal, employment, and career goals.

Recognizes the Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA) as among the first higher education entities in the United States to adopt a Neurodiversity Inclusion Statement.

Directs presentation of a copy of this resolution to the ICCTA in recognition of its leadership in raising awareness of neurodiversity inclusion.
