Illinois House of Representatives congratulates Tom Walters on his retirement from Caterpillar after 26 years of service.

Tom Walters began his career with a 13-year tenure in Illinois state government affairs, including work as a legislative liaison with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

He joined Caterpillar in 1998 as manager of Illinois State Government Affairs and advanced to director of U.S. State and Americas in 2015, overseeing government affairs, public affairs, social responsibility, and visitors centers across the United States, Brazil, and Mexico.

Walters served on the boards of directors for the Illinois Manufacturers' Association and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, representing Caterpillar as a corporate leader.

The resolution recognizes Walters' integrity, leadership, and commitment to Caterpillar, noting he is survived by his wife Meg and two children, Matt and Ryan.
