Illinois House of Representatives expresses condolences for the death of Pettus Thomas "Tom" Morris Jr. of Peoria, who died on June 30, 2024.

Tom Morris was born December 16, 1939, in Martinsville, Virginia, graduated from the University of Richmond in 1962, and served as a captain in the U.S. Army.

Morris moved to Illinois in 1964 and had a long career in pharmaceutical sales; he was actively involved with United Presbyterian Church and served in the Christian Business Men's Connection, Jaycees, and Toastmasters.

Morris is survived by companion Carol Burling of 37 years, three sons (John D., Stephen M., and Thomas Kenneth), six grandchildren, two sisters, and extended family.
