Notes that the first national Constitution Week resolution was introduced by Senator William F. Knowland on June 14, 1955, and signed as Public Law 915 on August 2, 1956, requiring annual presidential proclamations.

Urges Illinois citizens to reaffirm the ideals of the Constitution's framers from 1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed by this guardian of liberties.
