Congratulates the Ogle County Sheriff's Office for their response to a crisis on June 12, 2024 at the Lost Lake gated community in the 400 block of Wild Rice Lane.

An armed man with suicidal and homicidal ideations was reported to police at 8:40 a.m.; the suspect was found to possess multiple firearms, a blade, pepper spray, and ballistic armor.

The emergency response team entered the residence shortly before noon and encountered gunfire from the suspect, resulting in three officers being wounded: Sergeant Tad Dominski, Lieutenant Jason Ketter, and Tactical Officer Tyler Carls.

Carls and Dominski were treated and released from KSB Hospital in Dixon; Ketter underwent surgery at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

The Illinois House of Representatives honors officers Dominski, Ketter, and Carls for their heroic actions during the incident.
