Congratulates Fire Chief Andrew Dina of the Warrenville Fire Protection District on receiving the 2024 Fire Chief of the Year Award from the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association for combination fire departments.

Warrenville Fire Protection District covers 18 square miles serving 20,000 residents with a daytime labor composition of 40,000 people, providing residential, commercial, and medium high-rise building services.

Fire Chief Dina has served in the fire service for decades, including as a paid-on-call firefighter with Westmont Fire Department (1985), full-time firefighter/paramedic with Broadview Fire Department (1986-1989), and Naperville Fire Department (1989-2019), before joining Warrenville in 2019 and becoming fire chief in September 2020.

Fire Chief Dina obtained Chief Fire Officer Certification (the top certification in Illinois) and serves as president of the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association of Illinois and Division 16 of the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS).

As a cancer survivor, Fire Chief Dina mentors firefighters on cancer prevention through the Firefighter Cancer Support Network and teaches at the Illinois Fire Service Institute.
