SB0314 - Uniform Faithful Presidential Electors Act

• Creates the Uniform Faithful Presidential Electors Act requiring political parties and unaffiliated presidential candidates to submit both an elector nominee and an alternate elector nominee to the Secretary of State for each electoral position.

• Requires all elector nominees and alternate elector nominees to execute pledges to vote for their party's or candidate's nominees for President and Vice President, with violations resulting in vacancy of the elector position.

• Establishes procedures for the Secretary of State to fill vacant elector positions by appointing alternate electors in order of priority: the designated alternate elector, an alternate elector chosen by lot from the same party, or any qualified individual chosen through nomination and vote by remaining electors.

• Prohibits the Secretary of State from accepting or counting ballots from electors who refuse to present ballots, present unmarked ballots, or vote in violation of their pledge, and such electors vacate their office.

• Denies food and lodging allowances to electors who violate their pledge by refusing to present a ballot, presenting an unmarked ballot, or marking a ballot contrary to their pledge.
