IL SB1250

Creates the Sprayed Fire-Resistant Material Applicator Act requiring individuals applying sprayed fire-resistant materials to steel structures to register with the Office of the State Fire Marshal beginning July 1, 2026.

Requires the Office of the State Fire Marshal to establish registration requirements including proof of training or certification, with registration renewable every 3 years.

Authorizes civil penalties up to $250 per violation for operating without registration, with each day constituting a separate offense; allows Attorney General or State's Attorney to seek injunctions.

Requires the Office to adopt rules and fees by July 1, 2025, with all fees deposited into the Fire Prevention Fund and designated as nonrefundable.

Exempts sprayed fire-resistant material applicators and employees at facilities licensed by the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission under 10 CFR 50 or 10 CFR 52.
