IL SB1407

Amends the River Edge Redevelopment Zone Act to authorize the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to certify 2 additional pilot River Edge Redevelopment Zones in the City of Joliet and the City of Kankakee

Prohibits the Department from certifying any additional River Edge Redevelopment Zones beyond those authorized in the Act, though it may amend or rescind certifications of existing zones

Requires municipalities with certified River Edge Redevelopment Zones to submit a plan within 60 days encouraging participation by minority persons, women, persons with disabilities, and veterans in the zone

River Edge Redevelopment Zones remain effective for periods not exceeding 30 calendar years and terminate at midnight on December 31 of the final year, unless extended or decertified
