Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall implement a program establishing a State prescription generic drug label to increase competition in the generic drug market and lower generic drug prices.

Department shall contract with one or more generic drug manufacturers to produce certain generic drugs on behalf of the State and participating entities.

Department must adopt rules to implement and administer the generic drug label program.

State Generic Drug Label Task Force established with 5 members (one House member, one Senate member, one DHFS representative, one managed care organization representative, and one pharmacist) to study cost savings and issue a report to the Governor and General Assembly by December 31, 2023.

Task Force provisions are repealed on January 1, 2025.
