Amends Illinois Pension Code Section 16-118 to extend the work period for retired teachers who return to substitute teaching from June 30, 2023 to June 30, 2026.

Retired teachers (except disability annuitants) may work up to 120 paid days or 600 paid hours per school year from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2026, with a maximum of 100 paid days in the same classroom.

Beginning July 1, 2026, the limit reverts to 100 paid days or 500 paid hours per school year.

Removes the temporary pandemic-related provision that added 20 paid days or 100 paid hours for the July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022 period.

Act takes effect upon becoming law.
