• Establishes that teledentistry constitutes the practice of dentistry under the Illinois Dental Practice Act and requires dentists providing teledentistry to meet the same standard of care as in-office settings.

• Requires dentists providing teledentistry to furnish patients with the treating dentist's name, direct telephone number, and physical practice address prior to service delivery.

• Prohibits teledentistry providers from requiring patients to sign agreements that limit their ability to write service reviews or file complaints with the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation or other regulatory agencies.

• Creates new restrictions on clear aligner sales, requiring written or electronic confirmation from a licensed Illinois dentist that the patient has received an intraoral or extraoral examination with appropriate diagnostic imaging before aligners can be sold to the public.

• Requires clear aligner sellers to maintain all received examination documents for a minimum of 7 years after the date of sale.
