IL SB1528

Extends the period for additional paid employment by retired teachers from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024 (instead of June 30, 2022).

Allows annuitants to add an extra 20 paid days or 100 paid hours of employment during the extended period while maintaining retirement status.

Removes language attributing the substitute teacher shortage to the ongoing global pandemic.

Applies the additional employment allowance to both the July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2023 period and the July 1, 2023 onward period.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
