IL SB1581

Authorizes the Department of Natural Resources to collect an annual fee of up to $5,000 per Lake Michigan water allocation permit issued under the Rivers, Lakes and Streams Act.

Permits the Department to set specific fees for different permit types and water allocation permits through administrative rule, with a maximum fee of $5,000.

Requires all permit application fees to be paid before the Department processes any permit application.

Directs all collected fees to be deposited into the State Boating Act Fund for use in water allocation monitoring, water supply planning, and ordinary Department expenses.

Exempts deposited monies from administrative charges or chargebacks unless otherwise authorized by law.
