• Adds new exemption to Illinois Use Tax Act, Service Use Tax Act, Service Occupation Tax Act, and Retailers' Occupation Tax Act for tangible personal property purchased by active duty members of the armed forces beginning January 1, 2024.

• Requires active duty military members to present valid military identification and use federal government payment methods, and complete a Department of Revenue form at point of sale documenting exemption eligibility.

• Requires retailers to retain exemption documentation forms in records for at least 6 years.

• Defines "armed forces of the United States" as the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard.
