IL SB1708

Creates new Section 356z.61 of the Illinois Insurance Code requiring that group health insurance policies and managed care plans amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after the effective date must be made available to all employees regardless of hours worked per week.

Amends the State Employees Group Insurance Act of 1971, Counties Code, Illinois Municipal Code, and School Code to reference the new employee health benefits parity requirement.

Requires Health Maintenance Organizations, Limited Health Service Organizations, and Voluntary Health Services Plans to comply with the new Section 356z.61 requirement.

Adds Section 356z.61 to the list of required health benefit provisions that state employees, county employees, municipal employees, and school employees must receive in their insurance coverage.
