SB1723 Summary

• Removes the restriction limiting craft grower license holders to only one license and allows them to hold multiple licenses (up to 3 total).

• Issues 30 additional craft grower licenses by May 1, 2023 and another 30 by September 1, 2023 to qualified prior applicants who scored at least 85% of available points, with the second round reserved for Social Equity Justice Involved Applicants.

• Removes the 1,500-foot distance requirement between craft growers, keeping only the requirement to stay 1,500 feet from cultivation centers.

• Requires adult use cultivation centers and early approval centers producing THC oil extract to set aside portions of monthly production for infuser organizations starting at 50,000 grams in 2023, increasing to 90,000 grams by 2027.

• Exempts craft growers from Cannabis Cultivation Privilege Tax for 2 years after receiving their license and allows transporting organizations to operate depots and use the same vehicle for multiple pickups and deliveries.
