SB1771 Summary

• Adds a new disclosure requirement (item 8) to the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act's statement of economic interests form requiring filers to disclose the names of spouses or immediate family members living with them who are employed by business organizations operating in the cannabis, gaming, insurance, or health care industry.

• Requires filers to also disclose the name of the specific business organization that employs the relative in the industries listed above.

• Updates the statement of economic interests form (Section 4A-103) to include the new question 8 asking filers to list family members employed in cannabis, gaming, insurance, or health care businesses.

• Maintains existing disclosure requirements for family members employed by public utilities (item 7) and other economic interest disclosures regarding assets, income, debts, government employment, lobbyists, and gifts.
