IL SB1786

Amends the School Code to require any task force, study committee, blue ribbon panel, commission, or organization created by the State Board of Education or State Superintendent of Education to include parents or guardians of students directly affected by the issues under study.

Parent or guardian appointees must not be employed by school systems, institutions of higher learning, educational collective bargaining organizations, school boards, the State Board of Education, or school administrative associations within Illinois.

Requires advisory committees created after the effective date of this Act to include representatives that reflect the racial, ethnic, and geographic diversity of Illinois, including representatives from rural, suburban, and urban areas.
