IL SB1873

Increases the fee for a coroner's or medical examiner's permit to cremate a human body from $50 to $100.

Maintains the coroner's discretion to waive the permit fee for indigent persons or under other special circumstances.

Requires all collected fees to be paid to the county treasurer and deposited into a special account for coroner's office equipment, supplies, and operating expenses.

Takes effect immediately upon passage.
