SB1883 - Wild Animal Public Safety Act

• Prohibits any person from allowing members of the public to have direct contact with bears or nonhuman primates, or hybrids of these animals.

• Defines "direct contact" as physical contact or proximity where physical contact is possible without a permanent physical barrier or sufficient vertical height preventing such contact.

• Exempts direct contact by animal owners, facility owners, trained professional employees, licensed veterinarians, law enforcement, government employees, and professional production crews working under contract and away from public view.

• Violations constitute a Class B misdemeanor.

• Authorizes law enforcement officers, the Attorney General, and State's Attorneys to enforce the Act and seek injunctions against violations.
