IL SB1995

State Board of Education shall develop and implement a School Share Table Program with guidelines for kindergarten through grade 12 schools.

Defines "share tables" as tables or stations where students may return uneaten whole food or beverage items to be redistributed to other students or donated to local food donation centers.

Guidelines for share table use must be published on the State Board website by January 1, 2024.

Share table use must comply with all applicable local and State health and food safety requirements.

State Board may adopt necessary rules for program implementation and administration; bill takes effect immediately upon passage.
