Department of Transportation shall develop a policy ensuring safety of pedestrians and cyclists on state roadways throughout Illinois

Safety improvements must be made during routine maintenance work and within 500 feet of maintenance sites on state roads in municipalities, including high visibility signage, crosswalk improvements, curb bump outs, barrier protected bike lanes, and bus shelters

Department must provide semi-annual reports to the General Assembly beginning January 1, 2024, covering pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements on non-highway state routes that have been initiated, are in progress, or recently completed

Reports shall be submitted every June 30th and January 1st
