SB2242 Summary

• Amends the State Comptroller Act Section 21 to authorize the Comptroller to provide periodic transfers for imprest system accounts with State Treasurer approval.

• Adds authorization for the Department of Agriculture to use imprest transfers to pay State Fair competition personnel, entertainment contracts, and entertainment support contracts necessary to provide entertainment at each State Fair.

• Expands existing subsection (d) to include "State Fair competition personnel" and "entertainment support contracts" alongside existing State Fair premiums, awards, and entertainment contracts.

• Authorization for State Fair imprest transfers terminates within 60 days of the close of each State Fair and must comply with Comptroller rules regarding vouchers, controls, and reports.

• Department of Agriculture remains responsible for withholding State income tax as required by the Illinois Income Tax Act.
